The NCHRP 20-68 U.S. Domestic Scan Program is now accepting scan topic proposals for the FY 2026 cycle.
Selected scan topics help shape national transportation practices by facilitating peer exchanges and rapid knowledge transfer among state DOTs and other key stakeholders. We invite eligible submitters to propose topics that will support the advancement of transportation research and implementation across the U.S.
Deadline
- All scan topic submissions must be received by 11:59:59 p.m. EST on Monday, September 30, 2025.
- Late submissions will not be accepted.
Scan Topic Criteria
Proposed topics should:
- Address a significant and timely information need for the AASHTO community;
- Be of interest to a wide range of transportation professionals and agencies across the U.S.;
- Be well-suited for peer exchanges among transportation agency practitioners; and
- Be focused enough to allow for thorough exploration within the scope and timeframe of a scan.

- AASHTO staff on behalf of a committee or council
